A BRANDING PROJECT
NISEKO SURF SCHOOL
Getting to work on this project was a great opportunity for me. Having surfed around the world for the past few years, it was amazing to be a part of the brand creation for Niseko’s first school Hokkaido has some great waves on offer and I enjoyed spending time with the founder in some his favourite surf spots, getting to know what he needed for the brand.
I developed a logo designed to express the freedom and playfulness of surfing, with a colour scheme drawn from the oceans and landscapes of hokkaido. Simplicity was the key focus of this branding project. Expressing the simple pleasure of suring through a clean and clear design. Re-creating the feeling of being out in the water, just you and your surfboard. We settled on a bespoke font for the brand that continues on the playful yet simple nature. I also provided website design and the initial photography for the school.
